This is exactly equal to the values you measured.Īs a side note, strictly speaking we'd have to consider the rounding error when inferring the gross damage. ![]() Now, let's see what the model predicts for the other values: So your set "No defense items" translates to:Ģ753 = Gross Damage / 2 Gross Damage = 5506 ![]() Net Damage = Gross Damage / ( 1 + Sum of Defense bonuses )Īs you thankfully posted in the beginning, you start of with +100% Defense bonus from the respective skill. The result is rounded to the nearest integer. Different sources of Defense stack additively. What happens here is quite simple, gross damage is divided by Defense, with 100% being the default defense value. I've managed to identify the model the game uses to calculate the damage based on it, and am glad to announce that all the presented data is consistent with the model. Thank you a lot for your effort to collect this data. At least, where im at (wave 6105) it does. Oh, and bosses increase in 2 damage per 5 waves (after you have 100% "Castle Wall Defense" skill). But its something that has to be tested more. +25% could be better though than items that increase dmg to individual units, for example the crit to archers. Look at it this way: Power Glove does +15% increase to ALL dmg, so in essence it trumps both those items since you are able to kill faster than you can minimize dmg taken. So in reference to "worth," +13% Defense is a no versus other items. after many more tests on different waves, the stats above stay true. Hope this helps and let me know on your thoughts or possible data you have collected. And as mentioned, i will not be doing that lol )Īlso, notice "Siege Defense" had zero effect on bosses which makes me believe this works ONLY against siege weapons (catapults, battering rams, etc). Unfortunately, there's no way for me to collect more data unless i reset my game to play with the "Castle Wall Defense" Skill. This is a very common formula for devs to use in games for armor or defense stats. In other words, the more you increase your "Defense" stat, the less benefit you gain out of it. Its hard to tell, but its possible there is a diminishing return to this statistic. I would replay with the same defense boosts to double check consistencies, and trust me, it was very consistent. I did this all on my phone but was easy to track since the enemy wave had only slow melee units when the boss spawned and would just pause the game on each hit. ![]() I would subtract between each hit to see the Boss's Attack Damage stat. I did this very simply: run the same boss wave over and over, and track my HP on each hit the boss lands on me for 4 hits. BUT, i did collect data on the Defense items to see how they apply. First off, i already have the skill "Castle Wall Defense" maxed at 100% and have zero intentions to reset my game to collect data for that haha. So, there have been more and more questions asking how Castle Defense is applied.

![]() The James Webb Space Telescope is the world’s premier space science observatory. SMACS 0723 can be viewed near the constellation Volans in the southern sky. Among the results, it proves that one of the galaxies has a mirror image. NIRSpec data also demonstrate how detailed galaxy spectra will be with Webb observations.įinally, Webb’s Near-Infrared Imager and Slitless Spectrograph (NIRISS) used Wide-Field Slitless Spectroscopy to capture spectra of all the objects in the entire field of view at once. ![]() The data revealed light from one galaxy that traveled for 13.1 billion years before Webb’s mirrors captured it. Webb’s Near Infrared Spectrograph (NIRSpec) microshutter array observed 48 individual galaxies at the same time – a new technology used for the first time in space – returning a full suite of details about each. In addition to taking images, two of Webb’s instruments also obtained spectra – data that reveal objects’ physical and chemical properties that will help researchers identify many more details about distant galaxies in this field. Researchers will be able to use data like these to understand how galaxies form, grow, and merge with each other, and in some cases why they stop forming stars altogether. Green galaxies are populated with hydrocarbons and other chemical compounds. The red objects in this field are enshrouded in thick layers of dust. Blue galaxies contain stars, but very little dust. Webb’s MIRI image offers a kaleidoscope of colors and highlights where the dust is – a major ingredient for star formation, and ultimately life itself. Stars are also captured with prominent diffraction spikes, as they appear brighter at shorter wavelengths. The powerful gravitational field of a galaxy cluster can bend the light rays from more distant galaxies behind it, just as a magnifying glass bends and warps images. Other features include the prominent arcs in this field. Researchers will soon begin to learn more about the galaxies’ masses, ages, histories, and compositions. The light was stretched by the expansion of the universe to infrared wavelengths that Webb was designed to observe. We are looking back in time to within a billion years after the big bang when viewing the youngest galaxies in this field. Light from these galaxies took billions of years to reach us. Webb’s NIRCam has brought distant galaxies into sharp focus – they have tiny, faint structures that have never been seen before, including star clusters and diffuse features. This field was also imaged by Webb’s Mid-Infrared Instrument (MIRI), which observes mid-infrared light. Much more about this cluster will be revealed as researchers begin digging into Webb’s data. This image shows the galaxy cluster SMACS 0723 as it appeared 4.6 billion years ago, with many more galaxies in front of and behind the cluster. Researchers will continue to use Webb to take longer exposures, revealing more of our vast universe. ![]() This deep field, taken by Webb’s Near-Infrared Camera (NIRCam), is a composite made from images at different wavelengths, totaling 12.5 hours – achieving depths at infrared wavelengths beyond the Hubble Space Telescope’s deepest fields, which took weeks. The combined mass of this galaxy cluster acts as a gravitational lens, magnifying more distant galaxies, including some seen when the universe was less than a billion years old. Webb’s image is approximately the size of a grain of sand held at arm’s length, a tiny sliver of the vast universe. Webb’s First Deep Field is galaxy cluster SMACS 0723, and it is teeming with thousands of galaxies – including the faintest objects ever observed in the infrared. NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope has delivered the deepest and sharpest infrared image of the distant universe so far.

![]() Pete actually started including MCR lyrics into interview answers. However the next year, 2004, they toured together on Warped Tour and both bands became friends. Keep the amazing music coming.Pete and Mikey met in 2003 when My Chemical Romance played at the Fireside Bowl in Chicago. Thank you once again Seattle for another happy ending. If you have not seen them live, shame on you. Even if you don't know their music, you are guaranteed to enjoy yourself and their set. Having a good time is exactly what a Piebald live show embodies. It took a few songs, and a request from Travis, but soon the crowd was dancing, singing along, and having a good time. Unfortunately they did not have the keyboards, but they made up for it. Onstage Piebald joked with each other and the crowd. I am looking forward to a new disc from them. However, I must say my favorite songs were Stalker and American Hearts. They also played a couple new songs that sounded really good. They mainly played tracks off their latest release We Are the Only Friends We Have, on Big Wheel Recreation. His attitude and enthusiasm on stage make the show worthwhile in itself. First I must say, that front man Travis Shettel, should be in the running for the cutest mad alive. This is why I love Seattle.Īnd finally Piebald. My thoughts on Minus the Bear are nothing short of Amazing. I can see them going very far in the future. You can really hear their talent when these guys play. Their guitars were amazing, as well as the drums and keyboard. ![]() This Seattle based band had a large following intently listening in the crowd. They had a more mellow tone, which I felt resembled a little of the Dismemberment Plan and Pinback, but a bit more up tempo. Noise Ratchet is with the Militia Group and has a new six-song ep coming out soon. They get two very enthusiastic thumbs up form me. Actually, the whole band had a lot of movement on stage, and a very strong stage presence. I must say, their guitarist had incredible hair, and loved to swing his head around causing his hair to fly everywhere. According to the band they are "a compound of punk, post-grunge alt-rock and emo." The crowd got into their music easily, and was dancing along to all the songs. This San Diego base band had a sound more rock than pop base. ![]() If you have not heard of this band I would recommend checking them out. How nice.Īfter My Chemical Romance, Noise Ratchet took the stage. These nice boys even invited all the girls in the audience to join them in the hot tub at the Holiday Inn they were staying at. ![]() Although this band is not my style, I was impressed by their set, and they definitely had their share of fans in the crowd. There sound had a harder edge, with vocals that consisted mainly of screaming. They played an active set, with a lot of movement and emotion. The show began with My Chemical Romance, an energetic five-piece band. And last night when Katie went to the Graceland to see Piebald, Minus the Bear, Noise Ratchet, and My Chemical Romance, she was not let down, and found a great new Seattle band. It seemed that every show she went to introduced her to a new amazing Seattle based band. But little by little, with each show she went to in Seattle, Katie realized this place was pretty tight. It was a very hard departure she thought she would never be able to live away from her venues. Then one-day college began and she had to move to Seattle. She lived in Chicago and spent all of her time going to shows at the Metro and Fireside Bowl. Once upon a time there was a girl named Katie. ![]()
